Hope for Breakfast and Not for Supper??

We all know that Senator Obama has been campaigning about hope and change for the US. And now from the recent Big Apple Awards, Mort Zuckerman spoke these words, “Hope is good for breakfast but not necessarily for supper.” Does he mean anything by it??

I guess the quote prove some valid point. Logically speaking, breakfast symbolizes the start of the day while supper closes it. When we start a day, we hope all things get well with our life but when the day is over…you can’t hope anymore since after supper, we are going to sleep already. But if you relate it with American politics, what do you think Mort Zuckerman trying to say??
