I was born in Cagayan de Oro City. Therefore my native dialect is BISAYA or Visayan in English terms. Most of the time, we are always laughed at because when we speak in English we have an intonation that is so distinct. Well most of us have it while others don’t. Nevertheless, I am proud of my dialect.

And since I am patriotic in so many ways, to my country the Philippines, to my hometown – Cagayan de Oro City, to my island – Mindanao, I am also to my dialect BISAYA. So as a sign of patriotism and pride, I have created the community Bisdak Bloggers. This community started as a group in Facebook and then we eventually branched out into a community blog as of yesterday, March 19, 2011, through the support of my fellow bisdak; thus claiming the domain www.bisdakbloggers.net!!

Bisdak is a word coined from Bisayang Dako. Dako means big. So when you say BISDAK, you refer to a person who’s native dialect is BISAYA. So, the name Bisdak Bloggers Network was formed to symbolize a network of people who speaks BISAYA and who BLOGS at the same time.

So, I am inviting you to come and visit our community blog at www.bisdakbloggers.net! Warning, we write in BISAYA most of the time, you might not understand some words.

I am also inviting fellow BISDAK bloggers to come and join us! Let us have fun and be proud of our native dialect!!

I just joined an elite group of bloggers called The Bloggers Exchange. This group of bloggers aims to improve their blogging careers in many ways. The group plans to have blogging projects in the future. Glad I was part of the pioneering batch!

Foreigners Marrying Asian Women

I have been blogging for almost three years now and throughout these years, I have met a lot of people online and most of these are Filipina bloggers in the US or residing from other countries. Most of them got married to foreign nationals and has blogs as their way to communicate with family and friends here in the Philippines. Some of them use their blog to earn money like me.

Speaking of Filipinas married to foreign nationals, I have heard countless love stories on how they met their love of their life. Most of them started as pen pals, chat mates and met through friends who have been married earlier to foreign nationals too. While some of them became members of dating communities like those who allow foreigners the opportunity on meeting Asians online.

Cross-cultural marriages are a trend nowadays especially westerners marrying Asian women. I have seen a lot of white people here in our city and carrying their half-Filipino and half-American (or whatever nationality is the husband) children walking with their Filipina wives/mom.

As for me, I always thought of marrying a foreigner when I was younger but somehow it didn’t become my cup of tea. I married a Filipino and somehow (after all what we have gone through) I didn’t regret my decision. But guess what, my daughter who is still 10 years old has plans to marry an American “blonde” guy with blue eyes!! She is young but yet so descriptive about her taste already!! Hehehe…

I totally forgot that I have participated 5minutesformom.com‘s The Ultimate Blog Party 2008. But I guess it’s better late than never.

Anyway, I have no party pictures with my kids nor a video. But all I can offer you are few pictures from my daughter’s birthday last March 16, 2007 at our old rented apartment. And a few days from now, she will be turning eight!

Bisdak Planet – Managhigala

I was informed today that I was accepted as a member by Bisdak Planet. It’s a group of people becoming friends and sharing anything online particularly Filipinos who spoke the dialect of Visaya – world wide. Of course the word Bisdak (Bisayang Dako) means Visayan Speaking (dako mean big actually, so it reiterates being proud to be a visaya).

I joined them because I really wanted to have more online friends and I am so proud that I am a Visaya also.

I am really delighted for being accepted. I actually waited for it.

I would also like to thank all the Bisdak members who came by my blog to welcome me. Thank you very much guys! It made me felt warmly welcomed. I will be seeing more of you!
