The New Philippine Peso Banknotes

Just a few minutes ago, I saw a re-tweet message. It was from Isabella Magalona. She re-tweeted an image of the New Philippine Peso Banknotes. As she said, it looked like Hong Kong dollar-ish and when I looked at the picture (found below), I think all of us would agree with her.

Anyway, I really loved how the New Philippine Peso Banknotes looks like. As for now, I am already excited to grab a few of these bills!!

One hundred fifty five days to go before the 2010 presidential elections here in our country, the Philippines. And guess what?! I am still undecided whom to vote for since the day Senator Chiz Escudero backed out from his decision to run for the presidential race.

Anyway, since I have time to decide whom to vote for, I opted to look for avenues to learn more about the presidential candidates. Unfortunately, most avenues are debates aired on TV in which I am not really fond off. So I looked for an online avenue where I can get more information about them that will help me decide for the upcoming elections, an avenue where I can learn about their agendas, goals and projects to make a better Philippines. And thank God I found PoliticalArena.com!

PoliticalArena.com is Philippines’ first socio-political networking site that is aimed to help promote voter education, discuss political issues and have an up close and personal discussion with presidential candidates. The site also supplies relative information on all political candidates vying for the presidential and vice presidency seats. They also have a political forum where you can discuss with other Filipino voters on major issues.

After discovering the site, I immediately signed up and registered. I even participated in some discussions at the forum expressing my own opinion on some ongoing issues of our country. Check out my post here at “Who would you like, someone “capable” or “trustworthy”?” I also explored the pages of each candidate. Each candidate has their profiles, videos, pictures, blog and news. There is also a green button at the upper side of each page that says “I SUPPORT YOU.” When you click it, your profile avatar will appear at the candidates’ supporters. And if you decide not to support the candidate anymore, you can click the once green button now turned red and saying “WITHDRAW SUPPORT.” The site is amazing as you yourself can post videos and blog posts of your own opinion through your profile. It also has a stream of candidates supported and questions asked.

Truly, PoliticalArena.com can really help in many ways in choosing the right candidate to vote this coming 2010 presidential elections and maybe a few days from now I will be finally posting the candidate I am going to vote for.

Price Freeze

After the onslaught of typhoon Ketsana, many Filipinos got their cars damaged by the floods. Some cars have been taken away from their houses while others have them at their own homes but were soaked in flood waters.

Yesterday, the government implemented a price freeze for all primary commodities, construction supplies and car parts. I just wonder if there are also a price freeze for Toyota accessories, GMC accessories, Lincoln accessories and many others. Most of the cars I saw in the news are of that brand. So probably the demands for parts and accessories will surely increase.

Anyway, I hope that the business men will follow the government’s order of a price freeze. We all need this. We need to recuperate from the tragedy!

A New Social Networking Website and More!!

As I have previously posted before, if I am not busy farming or attending my resto, I am either plurking or twittering! I have enjoyed making and reading micro-blogging entries from my friends locally and around the world. What best is when you are online with them; you will get info on the latest news and current events. One of this latest news I got from plurking is about Sandbox.

Sandbox is like any other social networking websites with a huge plus to offer to its user. It has services like friendster but with online store. You can create profile and share them with your friends. You can also upload photos, videos and even can create blog posts.

Sandbox also offers services like facebook but with online store. You can download games and music for only 30 pesos per song which is of course, much cheaper compared with iTunes. If you are in the Philippines, you don’t have to worry because you are definitely allowed to do so because Sandbox is locally developed here in the Philippines but accessible by everyone worldwide! You don’t have to worry when you download games and music because the amount will be deducted to your outstanding prepaid credits or can be billed on your next postpaid bill and it’s in pesos, not in dollars. No need of a credit card.

Sandbox also has a DigiSoria which is an online store where you can buy and even sell almost anything and where you can interact with other members too!

I am not yet that very familiar of the many benefits Sandbox has to offer but after I registered, I can feel how user-friendly the platform is. It’s easy to explore and experiment. Wow Pinay: Gina Pareno

While I was checking my email at Yahoo and logged out, I was amazed to see a flashing headline that actress, Gina Pareno, won the best supporting actress award at the Third Asian Film Awards. She won this award from the film “Serbis” with of course the ever so bold, naked scene.

Anyway, correct me if I am wrong, I guess this is Gina Pareno’s second international award. I guess the first one was from the movie “Kubrador.” Oh well, second or not, hearing these kind of news really makes me more proud of our country, the Philippines.

This is another Wow Pinay moment! Go Filipinas! Go Philippines!

Tribute to the 23rd EDSA Revolution

Today, we are celebrating the 23rd EDSA Revolution. It was the time when the Philippine people struggle to break free from a dictator.

Though the People’s Power was successful, I believed that our country is still enslaved, not by a dictator, but by corrupt politicians that makes their pockets healthy rather than the people’ well-being.

Travelling Thoughts

I love traveling. It’s great to be able to experience a different environment, food, people and other things. It’s like rediscovering something you haven’t known existed before. When I visit a new place, I make sure I try all the local delicacies and recipes. It’s great to taste a different kind of food. Here in the Philippines, although it is a small country, and yet cultures vary, depends on where you’re coming from. Each island would have a different way of doing things, different way of cooking, different ways of dressing up. So when I go to a new place, I get very excited. It’s cool to meet new people. You will discover that even we live in a one country; each people group will have different cultures.

One of the best destinations in going places would be the Philippine resorts. We have the best and most beautiful places to see and visit. I haven’t gone to all our resorts yet but I have seen, read and heard from people about them… which makes me want to travel even more. When traveling time, it is best to search about the place first and find out what to do where and where to do what. That is the best advice I can give to those who love to travel also. This way, we have a glimpse of what’s going to be happening in that place.

Makes me wonder, when can I go visit other places again?

How to ADD a Philippine Bank Account to PayPal?

Let me share to you my experiences in adding a Philippine bank account at PayPal.

Interested? OK, lets start then…

1. Go to https://www.paypal.com and login to your account.

2. At your account dashboard click “Edit Profile” near your name.

3. Once you are in your Profile Summary, click on “Bank Accounts.”

4. After clicking “Bank Accounts” you will be lead to a page which will lists all the bank accounts that you have added to PayPal. Since you haven’t added one yet, your screen will not show any. In my case, I already have added three banks.

5. Click on the “Add” button at the lower portion of the page.

6. After that, key in all the necessary details asked by PayPal like your bank’s name, it’s bank code and your bank account number. If you have no idea what are the accepted Philippine banks at PayPal and their corresponding bank codes, you can view it here: Philippine Bank Codes for PayPal Use. After typing in the details, click “Continue.”
7. You will be given a summary of all you have typed, review the details. Once everything is correct, click “Add Bank Account.” Be careful about the bank details because once you have encoded the wrong ones and transacted a bank transfer, you will be charge with a penalty.
8. After this, you will be able to view a page that will tell you that you have successfully added a bank account and you will also receive a corresponding email from PayPal informing you of the added bank account.
