Isle of Wight

Just off the south coast near the Solent, the Isle of Wight is perhaps one of the best places in the whole of the UK to go on a camping holiday. An island largely untouched by urban sprawl, camping enthusiasts have pitched their tents here for year after year, and with good reason. Pitch Up offer many campsites on the Isle of Wight which always offer visitors a warm welcome, plentiful facilities and a bit of peace and quiet from the stresses of everyday life.

If you’re intent on visiting the Isle of Wight camping is perhaps the best way to go and explore the island in all its glory. There are a number of places to choose from, and you’re bound to be within easy reach of a number of fun activities that you and everyone else you come with will enjoy.

One such campsite is Nodes Point Holiday Park near the seaside town of Ryde. Just a short walk away from the golden sands of St. Helens beach; if your kids like a day out at the seaside, then this is the campsite for you. The site itself isn’t exactly short of things for the young ones to do: they can make use of the indoor swimming pool, games room and even do fun stuff with the Kids’ Club. As for the adults, there’s plenty of evening entertainment on offer, plus the clubhouse serves hot food daily.

Just as family friendly is the Landguard Holiday Park near Shanklin. As well as an indoor swimming pool, there’s an outdoor pool which is perfect for a hot summer’s day. Also on site are a bar, restaurant and, if you feel like just eating as a family in your tent, caravan or motorhome, you can order some hot food from the takeaway café.

If you want your holiday to be more relaxing, then Wight Bells near Sandown could be just the ticket. Ideal for those who want to explore the island by foot, the bell tents here have their own cleaning facilities, electric sockets for charging mobile phones and making a cup of tea, and even come equipped with a double bed and double futon.
