Want to Successfully Breastfeed!

Loading

As a stay at home mom, it is my sincerest commitment to breastfeed my baby. Unfortunately, for two days now, my baby was able to drink 3 bottles of milk formula. My mom thinks that the reason Baby Bella cries and wanted to be held always from dawn to morning is because she is not getting any milk from me. Because of this, I became paranoid and felt guilty that I might not be giving my baby the milk she needs.

Anyway, I told my mom that I would not let Baby Bella drink from the bottle again as this would stop my breastmilk production. She said that it wouldn’t if I just feed my baby one bottle a day. So I explained to her that if Baby Bella will grow with the bottle, she would prefer it rather than me because milk formulas nowadays are sweet. Once she will grow fond of the taste, she will always look for this and eventually stop breastfeeding from me.

So now, as of the time of writing this post, I haven’t slept. I have been up carrying and breastfeeding Baby Bella. A few hours ago, we gave the third bottle of milk formula because my mom insisted that she wouldn’t sleep because she is hungry but my mom was wrong. Baby Bella drank a few sips from the bottle not enough to reach one ounce. She was not hungry! She was just being fussy!

I am a new generation mom. Supposed to be, I am the one who will pursue milk formula rather than breastfeeding but I don’t. I want to pursue and be successful in breastfeeding. I have breastfed my two older children and I am willing to fight for my third even if it entails sleepless and stressful nights. Even if it will cost me an acne breakout, I wouldn’t mind since I can always get acne treatments later. What matters most right now is that I will breastfeed my baby successfully even for one year. I will be happy with that!

helo… breasfeeding is the best for the first year of your baby, you are right milk formula are tasty because they are sugary, and also i find that the less you breastfeed your baby the more they become a fussy eater when they become rodler, I am speaking from my experience.. I breasfed my ist baby for two years lol, and the second one six months and I know the difference…. sensay na kung nainvade kita..

hay mommy…same problem here. at 4 months, i have accepted that i cannot just breastfeed my baby. before i even got pregnant, i have always thought of breastfeeding my baby. i did…for a while.

i also thought of delivering normally, as in psyching myself for it–in the end, CS.

i got depressed about things, but now i have come to accept it. i have done everything.

but nothing happened. i guess this was just the Lord’s way of allowing other mothers to provide breastmilk for dindin. to date, dindin has had the breastmilk of 3 other mothers aside from me. we are just blessed that we have contemporaries who are willing to share.

my friend who is donating her breastmilk now says that her commitment is to be able to feed baby din till she’s 1 year old.

    the work of God.

take care mommy and take it easy. your baby needs you well. 😀

Hi mommy ruby, its been a while since I visited your blog, busy sa article writing business eh. Ahm maybe I can help since I am taking up nursing. If wala po lumlbas na milk try to ask your husband to suck it a little for the milk to be stimulated. I know it’s kinda weird but that really helps.

Hope I helped a little.. Enjoying breastfeeding

Trivia: Did you know that while breast feeding up to 2 years can prevent lactating mothers from being pregnant during the said duration?? Given that it is continuous breastfeeding. Feel free to ask some tips from other people ^^

Oh do not give up! Kaya mo ‘yan. I went through that when I just gave birth at yeah, I gave bottle once or twice a day thinking my milk is not enough…but I researched about it. Ayun kinakabag ang baby ko dahil sa lakas ng tulo ng gatas ko (hyper lactation syndrome)…he’s swallowing air. If that is the case with your baby, I can teach you what to do. 🙂

I will email you about the price of my baby sling. 🙂

I will try to do all your suggestions. So far, she is still drinking from me. Minsan she drinks from the bottle kung may lakad ako.

Anyway, I will know soon when we get to be with her doctor. We will know if she really gained weight or we are having real problems.
