A New Dress in Your Future

November 26, 2010

With the money that I saved on switching my car insurance, I was able to buy the new dress that I didn’t think I could afford. I love it when there is extra money to spend. This could be habit forming. I have read that many people swear by having a budget. Well, if having a budget means being able to buy more new dresses more often, then I’m in. I guess it doesn’t hurt to take a look at your finances every once in a while. I think people avoid doing it because they have made a habit of overspending and don’t want to get depressed when they see the reality of their finances.

The best thing to do is take a look anyway. Once you make a list of your typical monthly expenses, you’ll know for sure what kind of money you’ll have at your disposal for the remainder of the month. If things do not look so promising, then you need to take the upper hand and look at ways to add more income. This is where many people fall short because they don’t have the will power to make any changes, even if it will be for the better in the long run.

This is where you need to find your adult voice and tell yourself to get moving. If you can take even a few minutes to jot down how you are spending your money each day, you will see the patterns forming immediately. This is the first area that can make a difference for you. Maybe you will find that you are spending way too much money eating out during the week. You can deal with this right away by taking a bag lunch instead. You can take this money and save it. Before you know it, you’ll be shopping for another new dress. I know I will.
