A Pedicure and New Glasses to Save the Day

I have been sleeping at my best friend’s house for two nights. It is my way to save up money on taxi especially when an event is during the night and then I have another event on the next day. Before I always ride a motorcycle back home late at night but now I don’t do that anymore and just try to save up on money. I need to budget even my transportation expenses especially after hearing Mr. Rex Mendoza during my productive night with Sun Life.

I know some people are not interested in my life. But since I am trying to blog again like the old school way with my blogging challenge, I try to write about how my day went even how uninteresting this may seem to other people. I am blogging for myself and my sanity.

Mich and Myl Media and Bloggers Nail and Spa Party

One of the things that I like about blogging is to be invited to media and bloggers events locally. Today, I was invited to Mich and Myl Media and Bloggers Nail and Spa Party to celebrate Mich and Myl Nails 1st Year Anniversary of their Cagayan de Oro Branch. I was privileged to have a pedicure done.

It was my first time having my nails done at Mich and Myl Nails. The nail technician who took care of me was named Maria Isabella. I couldn’t forget her name because she is also a BELLA like my daughters. She was very kind and accommodating. My nails and my feet got out with beautiful black nail polish and a soothing foot massage. So far, their service, particularly under Maria Isabella’s hands, was great.

I think I am going to go back there to try their Acrylic Nail Extensions and Nail Art. I haven’t been able to try one but since I have said to myself that I am renewing my “No Regrets” vow, I am going to try it soon! During the pedicure service, we were treated to good food and organic sparkling wine. By the way, before I even forget, they have a free internet connection at their place. Just ask for their WiFi password. So while waiting, you can enjoy browsing your phone.

Having my pedicure with friends and food around is some of the small happiness that I enjoy. I don’t have payment for doing this. Getting freebies on products and services from local brands and business make me happy. And with that, I am grateful. But of course, I don’t always say YES to all these events because I have a family to take care and we all know this single mom needs to hustle, too!

Shopping for Glasses

Eyeglasses for My Astigmatism

The eyeglasses you see on most of my photos are about four or more years old. I know I am due to upgrade to a new one since I am having terrible headaches. Early this year, I went to get a brand new eyeglasses from two different optical shops. Both were expensive and both weren’t working for me at all. After a week of wearing, all I got was more terrible head-popping headaches. It was a waste of money.

So today, I went to another optical shop just to buy eyeglasses with no grades just protection for my daily computer use. I didn’t plan to have my eyes checked again. But to my surprise, I met Dr. Anisa of Ideal Vision Center.

She accommodated me by explaining to me all the struggles that I might be experiencing. She talked more about my astigmatism and of course the need to get my lens fixed for it. And to be honest, she was clearer than most of those that I have met in the previous months. She was not there to push me to buy the most expensive pair but she gave me what I need so that I can adjust with my eye problems and my headaches.

To cut the story short, I went out with new affordable eyeglasses with a set of lenses that will help me adjust with my current grades. She said I expect to have more headaches because my eyes are adjusting, but definitely, it will get better. She told me to come back after six months to know how my eyes have been.

Sunglasses for Buddies

Next, Jenjacqs and I went to buy another pair of glasses. This time – sunglasses! Her old pair of sunglasses got cracks on its lens. She is due to go on a trip that has a lot of sun exposures. So she needs to ready to protect her eye. And since I was there, I got mine as well. I needed a new pair of sunglasses because I am also due to a trip next week. I need eye protection, too. We both bought the same design from Pacific Blue at SM Department Store. It was totally a great deal since the sunglasses were at 20% off that includes a case and a pouch.

Onward Bound

In between those events, we went to the grocery store and bought some items for our home. I made sure to bring some goodies for the kids. It’s not a bribe, but just something to brighten up the day of my kids whom I missed. After having dinner with our mutual friend Mimai, we went to our separate ways and went home.

So my day went well despite having to deal with a terrible headache all that time. As of this writing, I don’t have a headache anymore. I drank pain relievers. I can’t wait to properly adjust to my new eyeglasses so that I can have a headache-free life.
