My father used to breed fighting cocks when I was little. Most of his fighting cocks were champions. So seeing backyard chicken coops at our home comes as no surprise to our home visitors. Then my father stopped for years. He took a break. Maybe he got tired of feeding them. LOL!!
But now, I think he is back. We have two fighting cocks at home. Probably in the next few days, we might be seeing backyard chicken coops again. And my son is claiming that he owns the latest fight cock. Waaaahhh!!!!
Every breeder or expert you speak with has his own theories on the best breeds and characteristics of the birds, so it’s really hard to pin down. Given that some of the people I have asked are pretty successful breeders with a lot of champions, there is certainly no consensus.
