In some places, it is sometimes impossible to avoid cables being subjected to foot traffic. That usually happens when certain events are set up in halls. When you need baffles and speakers all around, sometimes there is no other way but to make the cables pass from end to end on the floor. That makes them prone to frequent stepping onto which will eventually damage the cables or make people stumble. To avoid both, it is best to have a cable cover for each line of set. Better be cautious than assume nothing bad will happen and avoid the possible blame later.
