When most of us think of art, we think of messy paint and huge canvases which, if you don’t want the bother of cleaning up after, is enough to put anyone off! But being creative and engaging in arts and crafts has been shown to have many emotional benefits, making it a worthwhile activity to start up if you’re feeling stressed or experiencing a lull in the mood.
With today’s advancements in technology, the concept of art has been transformed. Being creative doesn’t have to involve lots of messy paint and expensive materials, as there’s now a huge array of art-related apps specifically designed for you to unleash your inner creative side. So if you’re interested in bringing some creative art into your free time but don’t want the mess, here’s some of today’s top creative apps you can try.
Animatic
Taking the world of digital art to a whole new level, Animatic is a sketch-to-animation app for beginners. Animatic allows you to create a sketch as simple or intricate as you like, ready to be converted into a nifty GIF or a movie!
Simply create your sketches frame by frame in the order you want your animation to be presented, and you’ll have created your very own animation within minutes. Featuring a variety of different colors and pen styles for you to choose from, the possibilities are virtually endless with Animatic as you combine both drawing and animation together.
Coloring Book for Me & Mandala
Perfect for those who just want to stick to the old-school art of coloring, Coloring Book for Me & Mandala is a coloring book app for Android phones that provides all you’ll need to create your very own intricate pieces – without the mess!
Offering almost every color you could imagine with an array of intricate designs for you to fill in at your leisure, this app is perfect for those who want their creative time to be relaxing and therapeutic. In fact, coloring has been shown to significantly reduce feelings of stress and anxiety too, meaning your emotional and mental wellbeing will get a serious boost.
Gravity Sketch
If you dream of bringing your creations to life, Gravity Sketch is the app for you. This innovative app allows you to convert your simple doodles into real-life 3D models!
Simply use its user-friendly tools to create virtually any 3D design you like, and you can then send it off to an online 3D printer to be made into a real-life object ready to be posted directly to your door. 3D printing is notorious for being technical and confusing, leaving many thinking the possibility of creating their very own 3D objects is impossible. But, with Gravity Sketch, it really is possible and just requires a doodle!
Since making time for art has clear health and emotional benefits, it would be a shame to pass it up just because you’re too busy or don’t want the mess afterward. Today technological advances allow you to be as creative as you like all from the comfort of your smartphone – what’s not to love?
Ooohhh, interesting app list! Which one is your favorite among these? I haven’t tried any of them as I use an iPhone, but when I had the chance to use my dad’s Samsung, I downloaded another art app. 🙂
Hello, Oliva! So far, I liked Coloring Book for Me & Mandala! I am a Samsung user as well. I don’t have an iPhone, only an iPad. And some apps for iPhone can’t be tested using an iPad. So sad. I also have other things I want to try that can only be installed on an iPhone.
Oooh I didn’t there were art apps like these! I think I’ll enoy the coloring book best because yeaaah it’s an effective stress reliever and as a designer I get to practice color combination and get inspiration too! 😀
Oh this is nice! It’s good to know that we can do coloring on the phone. And that Gravity Sketch looks amazing too. I always wanted to try 3D printing but I don’t have that printer.
I didn’t know there are coloring books available on android too. Would love to try one. This is good to relieve stress.
Oh, these apps look so interesting! Too bad I use a phone with Windows OS… Seems like all the cool apps are made either for Android or for iPhone. I wish the developers would consider us too 🙂
I immediately installed the coloring book from the playstore! Haha such a nice way to kill time, though. Brings me back to my childhood days.
