Experience to Business

It’s been two years and almost two months since I resigned from my fulltime job and become a blogger by profession. In these two years, I was a blogspot blogger for one year and then later converted to using self-hosted wordpress blogs. I was convinced to get my own web site hosting account because it was preferred type of blogging platform by one of the company I am taking jobs with.

At first, I was very hesitant to convert my blogs from blogspot to wordpress because I have no idea how wordpress blogs work and how domain hosting is managed and the likes. I was afraid to go into technical details because I have no one to teach me how to do it. But since my online income was at stake, I have no choice but to force myself to like and learn wordpress and how hosting works. I need to know how to migrate a blogger hosted blog to a self-hosted wordpress blog. I need to know how to transfer a domain and get it working for my wordpress blog.

Eventually, I learned all this stuff. Thanks to google, everything was provided. The only thing I did was to learn how to search for tutorials videos and posts that can help me thru everything. I read and reread articles just to digest all the technicalities. Fortunately, I was able to apply all that I have learned and was not only able to transfer one but many of blogs not only owned by me but by others too. I also learned how to transfer blogs from one host to another.

Then later, I decide to start my own blog hosting services. With it, all the knowledge I learned from my own blogs were taught to my clients. I walk the through everything so that I could pass the knowledge to them too.

Anyway, I haven’t learned everything yet. I still need to learn how dedicated hosting and other scripts used in websites works. And maybe in the future, I wouldn’t only host blogs but also storefronts, forums, and even blogs using drupal and joomola.
