Is it Better to Live Uptown or Downtown?

Planning to settle down really soon but can’t decide where? Finding a place to call home is a challenging feat. There can be several factors to consider as this can be the start of many memories and dreams you will build. Now the quickest and easiest way that you can narrow down your search is to figure out if it’s better for you to live uptown or downtown.

How is Your Social Life?

One of the most appealing things about living in a city is the abundance of social opportunities. There are a lot of things going on so you will never get bored. Settling down in a new place, you might need to make some new friends first, but once you have established yourself you will have plenty of activities to attend to. So if you need more action and activities, it is a good idea to find a place downtown because the majority of social activities are here. But if you are content to stay in most nights, then living uptown is your best bet.

How Much Space Do You Need?

Uptowns are still being developed in the country, thus you can get pretty much larger and nicer units for your money’s worth compared with what you can get downtown. For people who are going out all the time and the convenience of being close to everything, they might have to tolerate living in small spaced or get a more expensive living space.

Downtown living can be a little more expensive since you are close to the action and everything else. But the downsides that you might have to deal with include pollution, traffic congestion, and flood-prone areas. On the other hand, living uptown will make you stay in more often because you are away from the social center. However, you are also away from the city noise, pollution, and traffic. Plus you enjoy fresh air, lots of space at home and the nature just outside your place.
