Island hopping is something that’s very much famous here in the Philippines, what with more than 7,000 islands to choose from. But if there’s one thing that’s in my wish list, it is to go island hopping abroad. It’s not that I am not keen on patronizing my own country’s beautiful islands. It’s just that I have always dreamed of traveling somewhere that is miles and miles away. I could travel to relax, unwind or work. It doesn’t really matter as long as I can travel and my family is with me when I do.
If I were to make a bucket list, one item there would be to travel to Kefalonia or Cephalonia as it is rendered in American English. It is considered as the largest of all the Ionian Islands in western Greece. Some actually think of it as a very risky place since it is right smack the heart of an earthquake zone. In fact, dozens of minor or unrecorded tremors occur each year in that place. But since it is one of the most famous tourist destinations in Greece, it still is able to attract a great number of tourists on a regular basis.
I am actually itching to research the cost of flights to kefalonia because I want to experience the richness of this island first-hand. I learned that this Greek Island has many wonderful beaches with fine sand and turquoise, bleach-like, waters. Among the many things the island has to offer is its many picturesque villages, the terrific landscapes and the National Park that is situated on Mount Ainos which is its highest mountain. It is said that rare species of fir forest grows on that mountain. Of course, I also want to experience the food and just how Kefalonian shopping is normally done.
Sound like a new place to me but im sure people have already discovered this kefalonia before, If you plan of travel hopping marz take me with you ha hehehe. pero ako ganahan ko mag una sa island hopping lol
