Protect Your Eyes

Posted on November 13, 2011June 29, 2013 by MOMMY RUBY

Your eyes are your guide to the world. Without them, you will not be able to see. Colors will be meaningless. When you go blind, you may be able to find your way by simply using your sense of touch and imagination. When you can see before going blind, someone telling you what color a thing is can make it easier for you to imagine close to what it really is but if you are blind from birth, that will be a lot different. You have been created normal with a pair of eyes that can see. It makes going about life easier than without. Working for a living will usually require good eyesight. Without eyesight, your work choices will be drastically limited to a handful.

Human nature has the tendency to abuse what he or she has. Bad habits form easily like prolonged stare towards the monitor, playing games on FB nonstop, or even working all day especially with numbers like filling up worksheets, drawing or layouting. Not giving your eyes frequent rest like looking at something else other than the monitor or not blinking while working will let you pay back later, much earlier than you expect. When it is too late, you will need to spend for different sorts of medication and your eyesight will no longer be as functional and productive as it used to be. You may even lose them if you continue to abuse yourself.

If you do not stop abusing your eyes, you might end up wearing eyeglasses (like me). You think it is cool to have those spectacles on your nose bridge? Yes, you may look genius but still it means you might have abused yourself one way or another. So, whatever your job requires you to do, protect what you have because it is what will make you more efficient. Like if you fly planes, get your own aviator sunglasses!

Hi Rubz! When I saw the title of your post, I was reminded that I need to take care of my eyes. I spend a lot of my time on the computer.. so thanks for the reminder 😛

This is definitely a reminder to me. I spend many hours in front of the computer and it is somehow abusive. That’s why I’m wearing protective eyeglasses whenever I am infront of my computer.

I am one of those who abused my eyes when I was in my teenage years. and now I am starting to value it, eating more healthy foods that could help my eyesight:)

I was advised to wear glasses years and years ago when I applied for my first job. Fast forward today I still don’t wear one although I’m a bit near sighted but I manage. That’s right we need to be reminded about this. Thanks sis.

I recently got a new type of contact lens that i only wear at night. Its called paragon (i think), but i reshapes your cornea overnight. You can go for up to 2 days without wearing them.
