Seafood Island

Posted on March 11, 2014December 9, 2017 by MOMMY RUBY

Praised be to God! Last Saturday, I was informed that I passed the teacher’s board exams. I was very happy because God answered my prayers. So as a treat, my father said that we will have a dinner at the mall. We were supposed to go the usual eat-all-you-can restaurant but I decided that he should try out the seafood restaurant at Centrio Mall. He agreed.

Dinner came and we found ourselves waiting for our orders at Seafood Island. We ordered Dagupan Boodle Feast good for 5-6 persons, Kinilaw na Tuna, Tuna and Crabmeat Sisig, a glass of iced lemon tea and a pitcher of fruit juice. All-in-all my dad paid around 1,904.57 pesos less his senior citizen discount.

Dagupan Boodle Feast
[deep friend boneless bangus, pork bbq, steamed white shrimps,
grilled tahong (this was not served), grilled talong, okra,
talbos na kamote, green mango, crispy liempo, bagoong rice]
Tuna and Crabmeat Sisig
Kinilaw na Tuna

To be honest, last Saturday was my third time eating at Seafood Island. As much as I love seafood, I am not amicable to how their food taste. The presentation is great but most of their foods are so bland or too salty. Good thing the Kinilaw na Tuna tasted OK. And I remembered that there was time that we can still eat the rock salt in their rice (from my second visit).

Anyway, you might wonder why I went back there again if I don’t like their food? Well, I always thought that there is room for improvement. I was expecting that I will be surprised on how good their food will be now. Unfortunately, they gained a thumbs down again. My dad felt the same thing too towards their food. He said the same thing – bland or too salty.

The question is, will I eat their again? Well, the answer is yes. But not soon, maybe after a few months time as I am still hoping that the management will find a way to change how their food will taste. I love seafood! So if they improve, they will gain a loyal customer in me!

I wanted to eat here with our friends when we were in CdO but we went to Thai Me UP instead… thanks for the honest review. I had high expectations about this resto. Love their presentation, though.

Argh! I feel like having a headache as I look at those yumminess Momy Rubz! It's been over 4 years since I've had this fresh seafood meals. I will surely give that place a try someday even if your review makes me a bit hesitant. Lol.

Anyway, a big congratulations again for the success of passing the board exam. When God blesses, He surely does to a person who definitely deserves it! 🙂
