Have you ever experienced celebrating Christmas with no electricity, not even one bulb present? In far-flung areas in the Philippines, a lot of towns are still living in darkness. Electricity and even a decent road haven’t reached their place.
In Sitio Naubo, people there have been living every day and celebrating Christmas with no electricity for years. But despite the darkness they face, they have gone on with their daily lives and even celebrated Christmas with sheer joy, togetherness, and thankfulness. They lived like one big family and celebrate a joyous occasion like Christmas together.
Because of this, Lady’s Choice Philippines celebrated togetherness with Sitio Naubo by bringing lights to their homes. The residents were overjoyed as lights continuously lit up for every thankfulness expressed.
Here is a video of how the lights brought about by Lady’s Choice Philippines to each home can bring so much smile to every resident of Sitio Naubo…
This Christmas, you can be a part of this movement by celebrating togetherness with Lady’s Choice Philippines. You can be a part of this great cause of bringing light to Sitio Casili, another town with no electricity.
All you have to do is share a photo of you and your family that best shows a moment of togetherness. Then, invite three of your friends to post a family photo as well. By doing so, we all help Lady’s Choice #ThankUTogether for a Cause.
Remember to tag Lady’s Choice Philippines on Facebook and use their hashtag #ThankUTogether. Every post helps light up Sitio Casili this Christmas!

such a touching video, nice for the Christmas month. Nice to see Lady’s Choice doing this for the people in Sitio. This brings me in tears to look at the condition at Sitio, yet their contentment touched me. They may be lacking in not having light/ electricity. But what strucked me to the heart is that they have a lot of joy in within them, their simplicity & togetherness makes me feel that they are richer than many of us in many ways.
When I look at Lady’s Choice, it reminds me of mayonnaise ( they are using that in that video right?).
I think it is fair to say that everyone in the Philippines, well, most of at least, have come to know Lady’s Choice brand since childhood. I watched the video and thought it was heartwarming. Even if at the back of my head, there were questions, I focused on the people and their plight.
So what were my questions? One is this, was that a temporary lighting intended for the sharing event, or was it a long term solution where at the least, the people from Naubo have lighting?
The lighting that was provided by Lady’s Choice in Sitio Naubo is a long term solution they have provided for the community. ^_^
This is so beautiful. As in my country, especially in Jakarta, there is something bad happening. Like the non-muslim people are treated badly. I against this violence, discrimination, and racism. But I can’t do anything. Seeing them living peacefully really melts my heart and dreaming it here in my homeland.
Wow, this made me remember are kind of life way back then. Truly we have the same experienced with those that are from Sto. Naubo. I salute Lady’s Choice Philippines for this act and would love to participate as well to help and support this humbling act. Thank you so much for sharing about this one.
I don’t remember celebrating Christmas in darkness, but I do remember experiencing continuous power outage some time during the reign of Fidel Ramos. I was still very young then, but the power outage was so frequent, I can still remember it to this day. It made everything difficult especially doing homework.
I love this Lady’s Choice TVC. It’s heartwarming and I hope more barangays like Sitio Naubo will be given light especially this Christmas season.
I remember that one too! I was in studying in Manila at that time. Doing homework proves to be a challenge that time. 🙁
This is such an inspiring post! Very heartwarming! Since Christmas is fast approaching, christmas is the season of Love. The season of giving. Thus, we should spread, share and give love on Christmas –not only on Christmas but every single day!
I have the same question as Robert! Did those lights stay?
Either way it is a nice initiative for the people of that town!
I hope they all get light soon, only problem is that the first thing they’ll want is a big screen tv. You know how it goes.
Wow! This is so great. It really is heart-warming to see big companies still give back and help the less fortunate, Christmas or not. I know Lady’s choice does that. The fact that it’s also so easy to join and become part of their movement, makes it easy for everyone to help. Thanks so much for sharing. Will share this with everyone too 🙂
Thank you, Melissa! Yes, it is easy to join and spread the love. Hope you can also join and your friends as well. 🙂
I love this kind of activity. It makes the Holidays more meaningful ❤ I’m overjoyed that Lady’s Choice chooses to share. This simply means one thing. I’ll buy more bacon spread ?
Electricity in remote areas are still not applicable until this day. And referring to the video, the smiles are as precious like they have received yet another gift for christmas, an early gift. We must thank Lady’s Choice for this movement.
Togetherness is just one of the amazing traits of Filipinos. I hope Sitio Calisi will have this one also and I know it will be. LADY’S CHOICE is really making good things for the lovelihood of Filipinos especially on Christmas season. How amazing that a lot of people also wants to be a part of this to help Lady’s Choice with their advocacy.
