Social Security Contributions and Disability Insurance

Posted on April 24, 2011July 14, 2012 by MOMMY RUBY

Back when I was still working as a branch sales manager I would often talk to the people in the accounting department to follow up on the commissions of my people. Whenever I am in the office of the said department, I would see some employees who are there trying file for cash advances, salary loans and the like.

The liaison officer for social security also holds her office in the accounting department and she also happens to be the same one who processes employee contributions and benefits to and from social security. I saw how she deals with an employee who wants to apply for maternity and sickness benefits almost every other day and at one point I saw her process an employee’s request for disability insurance.

The employee was about to file for the said insurance and he needed a copy of his contribution records to show his insurance agent. Since the insurance will be taken from his social security contributions, the agent needed to see how diligently he made his contributions.
