    My Tribute to Former President Corazon Aquino

    I was still a child when Cory Aquino took over as the president of the Philippines. She was the symbol of hope and freedom from the oppressors of democracy. I grew up with a great gratitude because I was not able to grow up with the tyrannical regime. Today, she passed away at the age of 76 years old because of some health complications. Our President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo declared a 10-day official mourning for her. As a tribute to an outstanding woman and mother, I am showing support by putting a yellow ribbon at my blog.     Wow Pinay: Gina Pareno

    While I was checking my email at Yahoo and logged out, I was amazed to see a flashing headline that actress, Gina Pareno, won the best supporting actress award at the Third Asian Film Awards. She won this award from the film “Serbis” with of course the ever so bold, naked scene. Anyway, correct me if I am wrong, I guess this is Gina Pareno’s second international award. I guess the first one was from the movie “Kubrador.” Oh well, second or not, hearing these kind of news really makes me more proud of our country, the Philippines. This is another Wow Pinay moment! Go Filipinas! Go Philippines!
