Why Different Domain IPs are Important to Bloggers?

Loading

Have you ever wondered why some paid to blog companies are not accepting blogs hosted at blogger anymore? Well, the reason is, most blogs hosted at blogger share the same domain IP. Though some may have different IPs (since blogger has a lot of servers) some of you are still bound to have the same IP with other bloggers that is already in their system.

So, why are domain IPs important with these paid to blog companies? Well, according to what I have learned online, they are important because they are important to the advertisers. These advertisers pay the company to get valid backlinks to their site from different bloggers with different domain IPs. This is essential because Google counts links from different sites with different domain IPs far greater than hundred links from different blogs but with the same domain IP.

In layman terms, getting backlinks from one domain IP is like getting recommendations from one person. So somehow Google considers it as spam and will therefore have lesser value. So, if advertisers purchase links from different sites with different domain IPs, chances are, they will have higher search engine rankings.

So, if you are doing paid blogging, make sure you don’t host all your blogs at the same hosting company. You need a variety to get more chances of having more tasks.

That is why I don’t host all of my blogs in one hosting company. I keep more than 5 hosting services to host my blogs and four of them I personally run. So, if you need a blog hosting company that knows your needs, you can always count on me for that. πŸ™‚

This is not a paid post by me. LOL!!

DISCLAIMER: I am not a SEO Expert. I just read and share what I know.

Update: I am not talking about an individual’s computer IP. I am talking about domain IP, the IP of your domain.

What I discussed here is not based on the “entirety” of what advertisers want but only part of what some of them prefer. Domain IP is important for “some” advertisers just like the blog’s Page Rank in the realm of getting a backlink for SEO purposes.

Blog traffic and high Alexa rankings are equally important for advertisers who wants not only a backlink but also visitors to their blog. That is why some press releases of certain products are done in blogs with specified niche, high traffic and lot’s of RSS readers.

Google (the bot that reads websites) checks the IP of the domain to which backlinks of a certain site are coming from and also the PR (that is another story too).

Example, Google doesn’t give much value (he gives value but not that very much) from links coming from several health blogs with the same domain IP that gives link juice to the site owned by advertisers. If he gives 1 point to a beautiful valid backlink, in this case, he might give 0.5 point to contribute to the advertiser’s search engine rankings. Of course, this is only for illustration purposes.

Again, I am not saying I am an expert of this matter but this is what I understand from my research on why domain IP is important to some advertisers who buy backlinks from blogs.

mao ra na akong exp momi ha πŸ™‚ ako lang pud gishare…

naa pa pakapin d i …. ip address will count i guess if we are joining ppc…kay ang pay per click account nato sa adsense or other ppc companies i-examined jud na ug maayo nila before makadawat ta ug payment. ug same gali ang ip add makita meaning from one person lang as what u said…so maong ug same person lang ang nagclick sa atong ppc resulta matanggal ta sa adsense or other ppc companies kay false clicks man :)…but again for paid blogging, di man siguro importante ug gihost lang ang domains in one web hosting company … naa lang gihapon adverts as long as naay trafik, naay update, naay pr but again, depende ug unsa ang policy sa paid blogging company na atong gijoinan ug unsa ang request sa ilang advertisers πŸ˜€ ….

Mostly, IP Address will count on pay per click advertisements since these types of internet advertisement will depend on true consumers based on the IP Addresses (true clicks from real consumers/customers/visitors). But for paid blogging, I guess, it doesn’t matter if 100s of domains are hosted.

Hello All! Thanks for your comments.

hmmm with blogger domains, i dono lang ha if it’s becoz of the domain ip add na ang uban companies dli modawat ug blogger domains. dli man siguro tungod sa ip adds sa blogger domains maong dli dawaton sa certain paid blogging companies ang blogger domains. or dli man siguro tungod kay ang blogs hosted in the same web hosting companies with same shared ip addresses.

pwede gali same web hosting companies but u can request ddcated ip address para sa imong web hosting though higher ang fee kaysa shared ip address. naa pud di ba ddcated servers in which you can put lots of ip addresses in it.

with my exp lang momi, ang blogger man gud if iblock ang blogger domain or let’s say iconsider na spam ang blogger domains, so no choice ang owner but to host her/his domains sa iyang web hosting or ask somebody to host for d domains in order to continue working as a freelance online writer. and then, if hosted na ang domain so no choice but to use wp blogging platform which a .php. so ang result all the permalinks will be different also kay ang blogger/blogspot is .html. though, ang keywords sa advertisers naa lang gihapon but it’s difficult to locate the previous permalink which was being submitted to paid blogging companies.

or let’s say, naka learn na ug web hosting ang owner sa blogger domains so ipull out na ang domain from blogger and ihost na using wp blogging platform or other blogging scripts, so again, ma change ang permalinks….

so, ako lang pangagpas na there are certain paid blogging companies na moprefer og hosted blogs using wp or any other blogging scripts kay inig transfer ana gud sa laing web hosting it will be d same permalinks provided na dli ang default (by numbers) gigamit. if ang gigamit lang is day/name, month/name or the custom structure, sugoro it will be the same permalinks bisan pa ug asa ibutang ang blog provided pud na wp ang gigamit. dli pud ko ka say something about sa uban na blogging platform kay lisdan kog b2evolutions ug sa uban pa.

But then, about sa ip address sa domains ug maoy reasons na dli modawat ang certain blogging companies dli man siguro. they will prefer hosted blogs because of maintaining the permalinks na previously submitted. ug usa pa, it is so hard and it takes a long time usa dawaton ang new permalinks from blogger domains to wordpress. dli ko sure ug ngano but mao na akong na exp pud before kay i have blogger domains na gihost nako ug pwerteng lisora ug hulat sa acceptance sa new wp permalinks gikan sa html permalinks.

so, i guess, sa akong pangagpas these companies are not concern with domain ip address…but they are concern with permalinks para macheck nila if gidelete ba ang gibayran sa ilang advertisers or gipermanent link ba jud sa tagiya sa blogs….

nwys, ako na pud ni momi…naa gali mother and daughter. the daughter is hosting the blogs of the mother…unya gidawat gali ilang mga domains sa mga paid blogging companies πŸ™‚

and i also hosted lots of domains sa akong mga friends for free, pero gidawat man gihapon :)….naa pa gali ang uban as in fresh pa karon na year lang gidawat sa most promising paid blogging company kay hosted blog man.

so again, for me and per my exp, it’s the permalinks that they are concern and not the ip add of d domains…

    @Ma Belle,

Thanks for your active participation in this post. But as I have said earlier that “some” advertisers are. πŸ™‚

And let me clarify, I am not saying that you shouldn’t host your blog in blogger (besides blogger has many domain IPs because they have a lot of servers) or you should get a dozen hosting accounts. I am just saying that some advertisers prefer it that way that they get links from different domain IP. πŸ˜‰

As for me, I host several blogs in my 5 hosting accounts and some of them I freely hosted. It doesn’t mean that they can’t make money online because they have the same domain IP as me. Just what like I said, “some” advertisers are but not all of them. πŸ˜‰

As for blogger to wordpress, permalinks can be retained. You have the choice to have permalinks be the same as blogger just what I have done here.

As for dedicated servers and VPS hosting, that is the reason why its expensive because you will get a unique domain IP address that no other sites or blog has. That is also the reason shared hosting is more affordable.

I am also not saying that this is the only important thing for advertisers. There are a lot of factors that are as equally important as domain IP too. Just like I said in my earlier comment, its not the entirety of the matter.

Blogger hosted or not, advertisers still pays for links thus making bloggers earn online. But many advertisers prefer WordPress over others, be it with the same domain IP or not. πŸ™‚

well, it’s good if all bloggers are as smart as you na kabalo botingting ug .php na moretain ug .html…

nwys, thanks sa imong nice article. but then, i will still remain na moprefer kog domain permalinks na permanent links jud over the domain ips kay mao mana akong exp πŸ™‚ hehehe…

pero thanks jud sa mga nice infos about those things. mwah mwah mwah
