It was earlier this year that I have been really annoyed about how my old laptop is very slow and is hampering my daily productivity. As you can see, I work online as a virtual assistant and a social media manager. I need a fast and reliable laptop to perform my best. But my old laptop has become so slow that sometimes a work that usually takes me about 5 to 10 minutes now gets me around 20 minutes or so. I couldn’t say that it’s my internet connection because it is the same everywhere I go including coworking spaces with high-speed internet.
But since I don’t have any cash-on-hand to buy a new laptop, all I can do is make do of what I have. Since I have no choice, I have to work continuously despite the slowness of my laptop. Then just recently, there was enough credit line on my credit card. So, I decided to do a little window shopping for the best available laptop that can be bought at installment basis and as much as possible with zero-interest rates.
Since my old laptop was a Core i5 already so I didn’t want to buy that is below or equal that specs. I wanted to go with a Core i7 laptop. Fortunately, after hours of roaming around and considering each and every option available, I have finally found one – ASUS VivoBook S15! At first, I was not so sure that I will be able to get the laptop but the cashier told me that my bank approved my purchase. Yay!!!
So, my friends, you can surely guess that I have posted this post using my new laptop. And maybe… just maybe… this is also the reason why I am so inspired to take up this blogging challenge because my laptop now is so much faster than my old one. Hehehe…
Anyway, my old laptop is currently resetting since I already have transferred all my files to my new laptop. My youngest will get my old one after I have cleared everything. She will be using it for her homeschool since I am planning to go independent (and that is for another blog post). As of the moment, she is really excited to have it since my other old laptops are being used by her older siblings.
For those who are curious, here are the specs of my new ASUS VivoBook S15 in Gun Metal color:
- 1.8 GHz Intel Core i7-8550U Quad-Core
- 8GB DDR4 | 256GB M.2 SSD + 1TB HDD
- 15.6″ 1920 x 1080 Anti-Glare Display
- NVIDIA GeForce MX150 (2GB GDDR5)
To be honest, I am totally enjoying it not only for my work but also for my games! It’s fast and the graphics are amazing! I can even watch my favorite movies and KDrama’s without even having a speaker installed because the built-in ones are just enough for me to hear.
Hi mommy! Fellow work from home mom here. I currently have the Asus UX305UA for work pero nagkaron na ng issues. Ask ko lang po kung lightweight ba tong lappy mo and ilang hours po naglalast ang battery nya?
