Going green has become the concern of many including home owners. You want to protect your family’s health and well-being and at the same time care for the environment through products that are toxic-free. These days, you can easily find quality organic food because they have been regulated, but for home cleaning, you may need a little more research to know the right ingredients for products to be safe and considered “natural.”

It is quite easy for manufacturers to tag their products are “organic” but it will be up to you to check the labels and ensure that it doesn’t contain any harmful chemicals. Educate yourself with what are considered as natural ingredients and which are not. Go for plant-based natural disinfectants such as those containing rosemary instead of triclosan which is chemical-based. Plant oils are better choices than petroleum products. Just keep in mind that the more complex the name of the ingredients are, the less likely that they are natural and more likely unsafe for you and your home.
For Your laundry, be sure to check for plant-based ingredients such as palm kernel, coconut or corn oil instead of those with petroleum ingredients which can be dangerous to wildlife when absorbed in our waterways. Go for fragrance and chlorine bleach free as much as possible. If you can’t avoid it, choose one that is non-chlorine bleach which contains sodium bicarbonate.
