I am not a good singer but when it comes to singing lullabies for my children, I tend to make-up anything as the moment requires. But there are several songs that I have for them. Songs that expresses what my heart has for them. One of these songs is entitled “When I See You Smile” by Bad English.
This song was memorable for me because it was the song I kept in my heart when my husband left me for another woman several years ago. I was faced with so many problems that I wanted to give up but when I see my children smile, I get to have the strength to face the world and fight!
Until now, this is the song that inspires me to continue and be strong for my children, no matter what.
Here is a video and the lyrics to the song:
Sometimes I wonder
How I’d ever make it through,
Through this world without having you
I just wouldn’t have a clue
‘Cause sometimes it seems
Like this world’s closing in on me,
And there’s no way of breaking free
And then I see you reach for me
Sometimes I wanna give up
I wanna give in,
I wanna quit the fight
And then I see you, baby
And everything’s alright,
everything’s alright
When I see you smile
I can face the world, oh oh,
you know I can do anything
When I see you smile
I see a ray of light, oh oh,
I see it shining right through the rain
When I see you smile
Oh yeah, baby when I see you smile at me
Baby there’s nothing in this world
that could ever do
What a touch of your hand can do
It’s like nothing that I ever knew
And when the rain is falling
I don’t feel it,
’cause you’re here with me now
And one look at you baby
Is all I’ll ever need,
you’re all I’ll ever need
Chorus
Sometimes I wanna give up
I wanna give in,
I wanna quit the fight
And then I see you baby
And everything’s alright,
everything’s alright
So right…
Bagay nga yan na kanta for your kids, kasi ang gaganda ng smiles nila.
i love that song, too…ganda eh 🙂
I’ve heard of that song mommy, but you are the first to relate it to kids. Still, the lyrics are applicable so why not a love song for your children? Happy MM!
What you went through was really tough! Hats off to you for being strong and putting your kids first ^_^
i didnt realize that this song is appropriate for our kids… kudos to you mommy for being strong for your kids.
dear Mommy online,
I am Jean a single mommy like other moms i made a special lullaby song for my 3 sons which i named Daniel Eisu, Daniel Joseph and Dan O Neil, every time i sing I would remember the days when they were in my arms now that they are older I think they are irritated maybe because they are big and grown ups miss singing them that song, I am happy I have seen this site but can I also share some poems and stories even if I am a single or solo parent. I am scared that my present predicament as a separated woman wont qualify me. Thanks and hope I can share my thoughts and ideas too.
