Since it’s the summer vacation here, the kids have nothing better to do but sleep, eat and play all day long. Well actually I do delegate some chores to them because I want to instill in them a sense of responsibility. I don’t know if I can still find a worthwhile activity for them as I feel as if I’m pressed for time.
Anyway, the other day the kids were watching something on Disney Channel and I was surprised by what I saw one of the kids in the cartoon doing. The scene looked as if it was a “dream sequence” or probably just their imagination, but anyway the two kids were like detectives and as they were solving something, they were smoking what looked like montecristo cigars!
That got me a bit worried and it made me think: would that have a different kind of effect not only on my kids but the other kids who may be watching the same cartoon? I sure hope not! What’s your take on this moms out there?
Thats why parents supervision still very needed when kids watching shows, kasi may mga cartoons now that using not so nice words
Shows nowadays are very disappointing – even locally. Gone are the days when you can watch educational/values-oriented programs in the morning, I remember watching Wansapanataym, Math-tinik, Bayani and Sine-skwela when I was young, ngayon you can rarely watch stuff like that.
even when the kids aer watching “cartoons” they still need supervision. minsan nga nagtatanong un anak ko bakit daw may parental guidance and power rangers naman ang pinapanood nya, pambata daw. then i’ll explain nalang to him.
