A Recent Photo will be a Distant Memory

Posted on April 4, 2020May 19, 2020 by MOMMY RUBY

Yesterday’s blogging challenge wasn’t that challenging for me. I had fun digging for old photos because I knew it was just hidden somewhere on my laptop. I have downloaded them a long time ago. I think I was already ready for it! 😀

Uncomfortable Challenge

But today’s blogging challenge, a recent photo of me, is quite the opposite. I am not pretty comfortable with how I look lately. I gained too much weight with an all-time high of 70 kilos! Yes, you heard it right! I am 70 kilos. That is almost 8 kilos overweight of my ideal weight for an Asian female with my height.

Well, I planned to lose weight. It is important to take care of a women’s health especially when you are aged over 40. Not to be sexy or anything but just stay within a healthy weight. My weight is above the healthy range. So my risk for developing type 2 diabetes and other chronic diseases is higher. This means bad for me… and bad for my family. So I try to moderate in my eating and hopefully in the future be able to do some exercise.

My Recent Photo

Anyway… I don’t want to have a dash of suspense since you’ll just be disappointed. Hahahaha… So with no further ado, here’s my recent photo.

Teacher Ruby. Circa March 10, 2020.

This photo was taken last month during our school’s session for class photos. Aside from the class picture, the teachers had their solo pictures taken. So this is mine, I was not comfortable with it but it’s OK. This is my reality now. Hahaha…

A Distant Memory

A few years from now, this photo, whom I felt so embarrassed because of my double chin will become a distant memory in the future. Just like how I look at my photos before, I felt embarrassed when it was taken, but felt relieved when I looked at them at present times. There were times I told myself I should have gained weight… and just like now, I felt I should have loosened some weight. Hahaha…

But my point being is… I may be embarrassed by this photo now but surely in the future when all of these will become a distant memory, I will be able to accept things as they are. Because time heals all things… even embarrassment! 😀

Bonus Photo

Before I end this post, here is a bonus photo! I just took this a few minutes ago. So technically, this is what we call – RECENT PHOTO!

We are all gaining. It’s ok, we can focus on losing weight when this is all over and we can shop and move more.

I love being behind the camera, so I have to make sure to be in photos with my daughter from time to time. I’m planning to spend some time going through my massive folders of digital images and make some photo books in the next few weeks.
